Dr. Robert Channell joined the 黑料社 faculty in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Biology. He earned his Ph.D. and performed research in Environmental Science at Jackson State University. Before that, he completed a Master of Science in Biology Education and a Bachelor of Science in Science Education/Biology at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Before joining Belhaven, Dr. Channell served for over two decades at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he taught Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and Nutrition while coaching football, softball, and tennis. His leadership earned him the NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year award (2019) and the Howell Garner High Performance Award (2016). He has also held teaching and coaching positions at several Mississippi high schools, consistently demonstrating a passion for student development. At Belhaven, he teaches Anatomy and Physiology and General Biology courses. His teaching engages students through active discussion and hands-on learning, emphasizing God's creation through biological principles.
Dr. Channell spent many years as a member of Wesson Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and RA leader and teaching children’s Sunday school classes. He has since moved to Strong Hope Baptist Church, where he serves through committees and in the Choir. He enjoys sports, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
