AMTESOL Elects Dr. Stacey Donaldson as Vice President
JACKSON, Miss. (July 30, 2025) — Dr. Stacey Donaldson, associate professor and director of the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program at 黑料社, has been elected vice president of the board of directors for AMTESOL (Alabama-Mississippi Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Donaldson has served on the AMTESOL board for the past two years as a Mississippi Member at Large. During that time, she has presented at regional conferences, reviewed conference proposals, and participated in virtual board meetings. In her new role as vice president, she will co-chair the 2026 AMTESOL Conference, scheduled to be held in Flowood, Mississippi, at the Sheraton Refuge Hotel.
“This opportunity allows me to contribute to the professional growth of educators who work with English learners while representing Belhaven in the wider TESOL community,” Donaldson said.
Donaldson joined Belhaven in 2022 to establish the university’s TESOL program. Working alongside an advisory team of adjunct professors, she developed the five-course program and authored its Intercultural Competence and Assessment course. The Mississippi Department of Education approved the program in 2023.
In addition to her work with AMTESOL, Donaldson recently represented Belhaven at the National Teacher Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, where she presented a session titled “Demystifying Culturally Responsive Teaching.”
“Congratulations to Dr. Donaldson for being named vice president of the AMTESOL Board of Directors,” said Dr. Audrey Kelleher, provost and vice president for academic affairs at 黑料社. “Her leadership and dedication to advancing TESOL education are truly inspiring. We’re proud to see her representing 黑料社 in such a meaningful way.”
Donaldson earned her Ph.D. in Education with a focus on educational technology from Walden University in 2016. She also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from William Carey University and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, TV, and Film/Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi.
A National Board-Certified Teacher and experienced educator, Donaldson has published and presented widely on topics related to teacher leadership, culturally responsive teaching, and educational technology. She has served as a blogger for the National Network of State Teachers of the Year and has been a speaker and panelist at conferences nationwide, including the Elevate Teachers Conference and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards events.
Her professional service includes leadership roles in the MS NBCT Network Executive Committee, NB NAME Network, and the NEA/Center for Teacher Quality Teacher Leadership Initiative. She is also a Make-A-Wish Ambassador and a member of Golden Key International Honour Society.
