Belhaven Earns National Recognition for Transfer Student Support
JACKSON, Miss. (August 6, 2025) — 黑料社 was named to the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll, marking its seventh consecutive year of recognition for exceptional support of transfer students.
Belhaven is one of only 251 colleges and universities nationwide selected for the honor, which highlights institutions that provide dynamic and innovative pathways to support community college transfer students.
“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to welcoming and equipping transfer students for success,” said Suzanne Sullivan, Belhaven’s Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing. “From the moment they inquire about Belhaven, we walk alongside them with personalized support, ensuring a smooth and empowering transition.”
Belhaven joins the ranks of other distinguished institutions on this year’s list, including Baylor University, University of Georgia, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Florida Southern College.
“I’m proud of the transfer outcomes we’re seeing at these Honor Roll colleges,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “These colleges are doing more than just opening doors—they’re walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what’s possible when student success is truly the priority.”
Colleges were selected based on 40 key metrics tied to cost, financial aid, admissions practices, campus life, and degree completion rates. Institutions recognized were among the top 25 percent of colleges rated through PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s transfer planning tool.
“Transfer students are an integral part of the Belhaven community,” Sullivan added. “We offer dedicated transfer counseling and scholarships, including special awards for PTK members, because we believe in rewarding their hard work and helping them reach their goals.”
Phi Theta Kappa is the foremost honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges, with more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 countries.
